WR1 Digital Publishing Ltd. tasked us with the exciting opportunity to develop a fully online interactive history timeline for schools.
The project was one of the largest we have taken on, and we worked closely with WR1 Digital Publishing Ltd. to produce an interactive web-based timeline that offers schools and exciting new take on teaching children about 2.5m years worth of history, as well as an accompanying website through which schools can purchase a subscription.
The interactive timeline allows pupils to view major events within all the major periods of history, and even compare overlapping periods to view human history around the globe in a whole new way.
The accompanying responsive website maintains the look and feel of the timeline, and showcases through imagery and video what the timeline offers schools. It also allows them to purchase a subscription online, so they can begin using it in the classroom straight away.
The powerful yet simple CMS allows WR1 Digital Publishing Ltd. to manage subscribed user accounts as well as the default periods and events in history which are available to all.
In addition, schools can log in to their own CMS and add entire periods and events, perhaps to showcase local history to their pupils.
We approached Blue Fusion Web in the summer of 2023 with little more than a proposal for a new edtech tool for primary schools. James and the team set about devising a workable model that, crucially not only met our somewhat vague objectives, but also directly met the needs of the end users - the importance of which should never be underestimated in product development. BFW have created a digital product for us that has been described as 'ground breaking' by a leading expert in primary education.
At all times BFW were responsive, fielding literally hundreds of queries from me, and always providing workarounds for problems as they arose. We already have plans to develop the product further and will absolutely be going back to BFW for this.
I would unreservedly recommend them for any projects.
