Q

Why do I receive emails with *****SPAM***** in the subject line?

A

These messages have been indetified as spam email. If you prefer we can set your email account to delete these messages, however there are cases where an email you want to receive is considered as spam.

What we recommend is to set up a filter or rule in your email software to move these emails to a separate spam or junk folder.

How to setup in Windows Mail and Outlook Express:

For Outlook Express only: (skip to step 3 if you are using Windows Mail or already have a Junk E-Mail folder)

  1. Right-click on Local Folders on the left hand Folders pane and click New Folder
  2. Type Junk E-Mail in the top box and click OK, you have now created a folder for your spam

  3. Click Tools (menu at top of the screen) and then Message Rules and Mail...
  4. In the top window pane, tick the 2nd option Where the Subject line contains specific words
  5. In the next window pane, tick the 1st option Move it to the specified folder
  6. In the bottom window pane, click on the contains specific words link
  7. Enter *****SPAM***** into the top box, click Add then OK to return to the previous window
  8. In the bottom window pane, click on the specified link in the bottom line of text
  9. A window will pop up, if needed expand Local Folders by clicking the arrow on the left of it
  10. Select Junk E-Mail at the bottom of the list and click OK to return to the previous window
  11. In the bottom box enter a name for the new rule, or leave the default
  12. Click OK and you're all done. Email marked as spam will now be moved to your Junk folder

How to setup in Microsoft Office Outlook:

  1. Click Tools (menu at top of the screen) and then Rules and Alerts...
  2. Select the Email Rules tab if that has not opened by default and click the New Rule... button
  3. In the Stay Organised pane, select the 2nd option Move messages with specific words in the subject to a folder
  4. In the bottom window pane (Step 2: Edit the rule description), click on the specific words link
  5. Enter *****SPAM***** into the top box, click Add then OK to return to the previous window
  6. In the bottom window pane (Step 2: Edit the rule description), click on the specified link in the bottom line of text
  7. A window will pop up, if needed expand Personal Folders by clicking the + sign on the left of it
  8. Select Junk E-Mail from the list and click OK to return to the previous window
  9. Click Finish and you're all done. Email marked as spam will be moved to your Junk folder
